I've seen wonderful results with Kodak Portra 160NC for studio work. I, personally, however, have not shot it. Been thinking of running a roll on the 35mm but, have been lazy. The Portra NC is made for studio lighting... the VC version leans more torwards saturated colors.
I shot a couple of rolls of Fuji's Portrait film and was not a huge fan. Don't like the color rendition as much as I like the Portra. Experimented with a couple of gels but, again, nothing to write home about.
